Yachting This Weekend Is Not Out Of Reach

Hat Trick, A Rental Yacht In Montauk,
Makes High-Life Living More Affordable

The Hat Trick in Montauk

The Hat Trick, the 65' Hatteras, a full service, luxury yacht is without a doubt, Montauk's jewel. It is a one of a kind, beautiful vessel equipped to cater and to accommodate even the most discerning guest.

Owners, Roger and Cheryl Gimbel and Roger's sister Gail, share a life long love of boats and the sea. It was their father, Hy Gimbel, whose love of fishing introduced his family to Montauk in the early 1960s

Local fishermen, captains and Carl Darenberg, Sr. became valued acquaintances whenever Hy found the time to fish here and his wife became a member of the Montauk "fishing widows" Club.

As a pioneer in the printing industry, Hy's escape to Montauk to do what he loved best encouraged his wife and children to join the local clambakes, to fish and swim and soon, they, too, became part of the seasonal Montauk scene. Fishing tournaments, especially shark tournaments became an exciting part of their lives as well as boating.

Five years ago, Roger, who operate an International Consulting Management Firm, offering cutting edge solutions in the printing industry, decided to share the Hat Trick with the public as well as to continue to entertain their corporate clients and friends. How proud their father would be of their new venture.

One of the highlights of their many memorable charters was when Donald Trump, quite the sailor himself, arranged for the Apprentice Team who won the in-store interactive event task for Dick's Sporting Goods, to cruise on the Hat Trick. The amazing sporting company, started by 18 year old Richard 'Dick' Stack after WW11, who opened a 'bait and tackle' shop, which mushroomed into 409 sporting stores today in 40 states, is one of Mr. Trump's favorite "candy stores". With helicopters overhead taking photos and another boat filled with camera crews, the Apprentice Cruise was sensational.

As part of their fascination with Montauk, Gail and Roger hosted an extraordinary cruise for the Montauk Chamber of Commerce as a season kick-off. And in keeping with Montauk's fishing tradition, there are half day in shore fishing excursions as well as full day in shore and off shore trips.

Private cruises, tailored to your needs sail to Block and Rhode Islands, Greenport, Shelter Island, Gardners Island and, of course, Montauk Harbor. With your professional staff including the captain, 1st mate and a waitress/server, safety and hospitality shine.

Luncheon and dinner menus offer hot and cold platters, including lobster. You must, however, bring your own liquor. Romantic Candlelight Dinners for Two, Wedding Parties, Photo Shoots and even a family Memorial Service have sailed on the Hat Trick. Corporate and executive gatherings have proved relaxing and productive.

Just imagine cruising overnight in either the Master Stateroom with its king size bed with private head/shower and Jacuzzi, or the Guest Stateroom with twin beds and private head/shower or a second Guest Stateroom with bunk beds and private head/shower; all with state-of-the-art- flat screen TV's.

In the spacious, comfortable salon with its nautical décor, there is a DVD player, a VCR and stereo equipment. There is no end to the luxurious amenities. To cruise on the Hat Trick is sublime. Attractive and personable Gail Gimbel is easily contacted and happy to assist and to guide you with your charter booking. For more information please log on to hattrickyacht.com. The ship is berthed at the Montauk Yacht Club. To reach them by phone call 668-3100.
