BLESSING OF THE FLEET

Hundreds of boats were out in Montauk on Sunday for the annual Blessing of the Fleet. The boats were blessed as drove past the Coast Guard boat the Ridley, and then went out into the Block Island Sound to enjoy some (highly illegal) water balloon fights.

Fox news man Bill O'Reilly has confirmed to appear on Ingrid Lemme's "American Dream Show" at Gurney's Inn in Montauk.

MYC 80TH ANNIVERSARY BASH

On Saturday, the Montauk Yacht Club celebrated its 80th Anniversary with a bang in a 1920s-style party. Celebrities such as Ivanka Trump and the "Real Housewives of New York City" were among the guests. Katie Lee Joel hosted a Burger Bash on the Great Lawn earlier on in the day.

REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE "SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA"

The East Hampton Town Republican Committee held a big party at the Montauk Downs on Saturday including great food, dancing and a live band.

POSSIBLE MONTAUK FAMERS MARKET

We've heard rumors of a farmers market in Montauk trickling out of the Chamber of Commerce. Nothing has been finalized but look out for more information.

23RD ANNUAL SHARK TOURNAMENT

This weekend, Star Island Yacht Club will play host to its 23rd Annual Shark Tournament. The Captain's meeting and "Beer Bust" are on Thursday with fishing on both Friday and Saturday. There is $50,000-worth of prizes to be won.

WEEKLY SAND CASTLE COMPETITIONS

Starting Thursday, June 25 there will be weekly Sand Castle Competitions for kids held at the Hither Hills State Park. Winners receive a t-shirt and all participants will get a certificate.

BREAK IN FLUKE SEASON

Fluke Season closed on Monday, June 15 and will not reopen until Friday, July 3. After that, it will remain open until August 17, when it closes for the year. -MC
