Sidewalk Sales
Montauk business owners have been frustrated with code enforcement stopping them from displaying their goods outside on the grass or sidewalk. East Hampton Town Code Enforcement has been issuing warnings to stop displaying and selling outside as it is against the law and they have recieved complaints. Code enforcement has not issued any fines so far. Business owners have not been happy with the warnings, but Dominic Schirrippa, whose job is to enforce the rules said, "If we don't let businesses know they can't do this then all of Montauk will turn into a sidewalk sale and nobody wants that."
Mr. Schirrippa is the subject of a News 12 interview about the matter.
