Kai-Kai Launches Successful Grand Opening

Last Sunday Gabrielle and Kai Costanzo opened up a new store in Montauk called Kai-Kai Shoes in a grand opening fashion that was fit for Montauk.

The new store located at Gosman's is what the American success story is all about, beginning with Kai Costanzo, who started selling his comfortable sandals out of his car to people at the beach. The grand opening had nearly the entire Costanzo family present, as hundreds of people filed into the store to buy a pair of Kai-Kai's, dubbed "The World's Most Comfortable Sandal."

The scene was true Montauk, with a live band, food and drinks. "The support and the turnout has just been amazing," Gabrielle said.

In terms of how much work was involved in launching the store Kai said, "We went up to the Boston marathon to sell sandals to runners with sore feet and the work there was non-stop for three days. Every day since we began planning this store has been like that." -DLR
