At Bocca Luppo

Roz Cole, David Rattiner

Bocca Lupo Art Gallery in Montauk is one of those places that you just have to love. The art gallery is located near Gosman's right next to Finest Kind Liquors. It's always worth a look in there.

Last week however, it was worth more than just a look. Roz Cole, the legendary literary agent, held her second art show in Montauk selling her fabulous and unique drawings of people at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Roz is the literary agent behind Andy Warhol's book, The Philosophy Of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again) which has been a best seller and is currently being sold all over the world. Needless to say, Roz Cole knows a thing or two about art.

The scene at Bocca Lupo was lovely with a food spread and drinks being offered. The gallery itself is beautiful and charming and Roz Cole was buzzing around the gallery with an ear to ear smile that is as bright as the sun.

Her work is inspiring and fillls Bocca Luppo with a sense of welcomeness and chic. Edward and Roz, who have known each other now for years, made excellent hosts as people like famed Montauk photographer Walter Krajicek came in to say hello and admire the work.

With the Art Festival in Montauk wrapping up to be a huge success, art is alive and well in Montauk and it should be. Having artists join into the community to share their work that inspires and creates beauty for all to see is a very meaningful part of summer in Montauk.

Artists come here because they find it hard not to be inspired by the endless natural wonders, the history and the colorful community rich with diversity and flair that mixes into what Montauk is all about.

This issue of the Montauk Pioneer in particular celebrates art and artists from all over and we here are happy to do it because it brings so much good to so many people.

Why does art matter so much in Montauk? All you have to do is look out at the ocean on the cliffs at Ditch Plains. What artist wouldn't be inspired?
