A Crippling Issue
Fishing quotas for Montauk are getting so serious and so out of control that some fishermen on Long Island have not been able to fish for over a year because of the unjust quotas. The quotas, which were established twenty years ago, do not represent Long Island fairly because many fishermen back then that sailed out of Montauk, unloaded their catch in other states like New Jersey because gas is cheaper there. Congressman Tim Bishop has stated that he plans to meet with Attorney General Andrew Cuomo about the serious issue that effects many families in Montauk.
Another Monster?
Nicky Papers, who runs the website montauk-monster.com has reported that another "monster", very similar to the one that was found in Montauk last year, has washed up ashore on the beaches of Southold. You can visit his website if you are interested in having a look at the new unidentified animal. According to Papers, they have named the new dead monster "Beastie" and are hoping to sell the dead carcass to Plum Island for research.
