Cell Phone Theft

A woman from Montauk reported to police that somebody stole her cell phone valued at $300. She attempted to call the phone but nobody answered. Police have opened an investigation into the incident.

Speed Zone

Montauk police have been issuing speeding tickets to visitors and residents who drive into Montauk using 27. Drivers who do not reduce their speeds at the entrance of town will be and have been pulled over to enforce the limit.

Dead Deer

A dead deer was reported on the side of the road by the St. Therese of Lisieux. The deer had been hit by a car. Police were called and the deer was removed. Some residents reported that a man was standing right above the deer and taking its picture. The man was not identified.

Unlicensed

A man in Montauk was charged with driving without a license last week by police. The man was pulled over and admitted to police that he was driving without a driver's license.

No Helmet

A few youngsters were seen in the street skateboarding without a helmet or safety equipment. No tickets were issued, but we advise all youngsters to wear the proper safety equipment when skateboarding.
