Montauk The Disappearances

You Got To Read This Book!

Richard Prince, author of "MONTAUK THE DISAPPEARANCES," is easy to recognize. He always wears his good luck ivory shark tooth on a gold chain and his mauve baseball cap embroidered with the title of his book. Delighted to meet so many people who stop to chat about his mystery thriller, he is amazed by the staggering amount of interest his first efforts have generated.

When Westhampton artist, Robbi Goldberg captured the local Balsam Farm Stand in her recent series of East End vegetable and fruit stand paintings, Prince's book was perched on the edge of the counter.

During a second and recent Long Island Authors Book Festival at Martha Clara Vineyards on the North Fork, Robbi and Richard met for the first time. It was here that Robbi Goldberg presented the author with her large painting of the Balsam Stand with the cover of his book. Ironic or just in the cards perhaps, but again Prince sold the most books at the festival.

An interview at WLIU with distinguished Bonnie Grice this summer and Allison Bevelacqua's upcoming October article VOX will continue to extend the extraordinary group of fans that Mr. Prince has collected.

Fishing enthusiasts, whether surf casters or shark hunters, will be captivated by several exhilarating scenes and all readers will be captured by the lures Prince weaves into his compelling mystery thriller. Substituting fictitious names for real people, places and events, his readers delight in discovering who they think are the actual characters. Keeping the authenticity of Montauk alive with clear language and local scenes while at the same time weaving in greed, revenge humor and suspense provides for fascinating reading.

"When will you write your next book?" the fans ask.

"I've started it already, and am up to Chapter 29! Think of it this way," Prince says, "It's about the time of year when the guys hang up their poles and grab their bows."

"Oh really," they smile.

"But what they don't know is that a killer is on the loose again."

"When will it be on the shelves all over the village?"

"Montauk The Bowman will be ready in the winter," Richard Prince, replies.
