Editor in chief Deborah Schoeneman hates Letters from the Editor so she never wrote one this summer. Instead, she revamped this magazine with a little help from her friends, who she hopes will remain her friends in the colder months when she moves back to the West Village and other classified exotic locales.

Artist/photographer Michael Dweck shot his friend Dylan Lauren for our cover. His internationally acclaimed first book, The End: Montauk, N.Y., is a beautiful chronicle of that surf community. His second book is due in 2008. An upcoming solo exhibition will feature new work at galleries throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.

The work of photographer Steven Klein ("Full Frontal") has appeared in such publications as Vogue, W, and L'Uomo Vogue. A new exhibition of his work, a series of horse imagery, is currently on display at the Vered Gallery in East Hampton through September 18.

CondeNet Editorial Director Jamie Pallot (left) moonlighted as contributing editor Pavia Rosati's photographer for her essay on onion tarts. It wasn't a rough assignment since they're longtime housemates and dining pals. They enjoy just about anything that comes out of their Sagaponack kitchen. Rosati is also the executive editor of DailyCandy.

John Pagliaro ("Art Gets the Last Word") recently had a show, Still Motion, at the Boltax Gallery in Shelter Island. Five pieces of sculpture will remain there on view through October. He lives and works in Shelter Island, when he's not colliding with buses in Manhattan.
