"Throw anything into Sagaponack dirt and it grows-including houses."
Enzo Morabito, the real estate veteran of three decades, knows of what he speaks-he has been championing the area since the 1980s, when he first fell for it. "Farms back then sprawled right down to the ocean," he says, "they stopped just at the dunes. Beautiful empty land...that's what drew people here and the word just continues to spread." The name Sagaponack appropriately means "good earth." Of course, Enzo's thriving business extends far beyond the confines of these chic former potato fields: the avid polo player handles oceanfront property in the North Fork and Westhampton as well as anything and everything in the rest of the Hamptons. At the moment he is particularly excited about two listings: a home built by Jay Sears that sits in the eastern most part of Quogue, surrounded by hundreds of acres. Near the village beach, its immediate surrounding area is a bird sanctuary that's home to a copious number of red-winged blackbirds. The other listing is in East Quogue: two homes built on a double lot covering 62 acres. He enthuses just as much about the clients he services alongside his "crack team of talented young people. I would describe our clients as extremely rich and intelligent. We know what they want, and more importantly, they know what they want." He also credits his thriving website, enzomorabito.com, for much of his success. "We have really harnessed the global audience that comes through the internet-it's expanded our business immensely. Anyone can sell when the real estate market is increasing by 20 percent a year. In this current climate, it takes a seasoned broker to navigate the opportunities. In work, as with polo, I am very competitive and I'm in it to succeed." Luckily for Enzo's clients, they benefit alongside him every time he does.
