David Easton
Considered something of a gateway between the storied grandeur of old-school design, and the increasingly pared down modern approach to decorating, David Easton sums it up with: "We're headed toward simpler lifestyles and mine is a clear view of the future through the sensibility of the classical past." Easton is also a hybrid of architecture and interior design, finding that both disciplines are well-served by the other. His well-bred, urbane personal manner shows up in his designs, an aesthetic that found its inception working for the modernist Edward Wormley after he graduated from The Pratt Institute. Traditional English design fueled his earliest commissions, but Easton has thrived in part for his ability to adapt to new clients and trends in the industry. "Passion is what you need to be good," concludes Easton, "an unforgiving passion."
