Royal Teen Travel Camp

We’re bored,” was the cry from children after many years attending day camps across Long Island. Campers became bored with the usual, routine activities when they reached their pre-teen and teenage years. They did not want to go away to sleep away camp for weeks at a time, missing friends and family. But they were ready for more adventure, some independence and great experiences. All this led to the beginning of Travel Camps. Travel camps provide the lifelong bonding experience that sleep away camps are known for, but their schedules allow campers to come home either on weeknights or for the weekend. With the right supervision and expertise, travel camps provide campers with the opportunity to travel with friends, grow as young adults and experience new adventures. They promote independence, self-confidence and responsibility, while allowing parents to feel that their children are safe and secure at all times due to the small counselor to camper ratios.

Travel camps should divide children by age appropriate activities and travel destinations, giving older campers more independence and longer trips. A combination of overnight and day trips make up a comfortable schedule. Accommodations may vary depending on each program. Some trips offer overnights in campgrounds, some in hotels. Most trips begin on Monday and end on Friday, with the few exceptions. Three meals a day should be provided for, with healthy options always available.

Royal Teen Travel Camp is dedicated to giving each camper and their families the utmost in personal attention. From allowing campers to select their roommates, to ordering what they want to eat, making individual choices is an important part of growing up. The flexibility of allowing families to choose the number of weeks and the weeks that are best suited for them is important, since families have different needs and schedules. Our program spans eight weeks, from June 25 to August 17.

The travel program at Royal Teen is for pre-teens and teens entering 5th through 10th grade. Based on their age groups, campers will embark on day trips to places like Mountain Creek Water Park, Medieval Times, Broadway and overnight trips to Virginia, Ohio (where they can ride the world’s best roller coaster), Texas, Chicago and more.

At Royal Teen Travel Camp, campers are supervised by an experienced staff that is trained in both CPR and First Aid. With a ratio of 8:1, campers will always have a staff member with them as they ride the roller coaster, take an exhilarating whitewater raft ride and learn the art of fencing. Schedules are designed to create shorter travel segments and trips are planned with fun stops along the way so that campers have the chance to play soccer, baseball, or relax with a group of friends. Campers travel on spacious coach buses, giving them the opportunity to watch DVDs, socialize with friends, or take a quick nap. If a child needs or wants extra help in school subjects, tutoring by experienced, certified teachers is available during the bus ride.

While traveling with Royal Teen Travel Camp, campers will always have healthy eating choices and plenty of drinks while they are away. Our cost includes 3 meals, as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day. In addition, all travel expenses are covered in our price, including accommodations, transportation and all the attractions campers will visit during the summer.

The programs at Royal Teen Travel Camp are tailored for each grade level, so that younger campers will spend more time on shorter, mostly one-day trips, while older campers experience longer, overnight trips. Our oldest, 10th grade campers will take trips ranging from 3 days to 9 days, expanding over some weekends. For campers in 5th grade through 9th grade, all trips will take place during the week, between Monday and Friday.

All grade levels will have the unique experience of camping out at one of Long Island’s finest East End parks in state-of-the-art, luxurious campers. A campfire, s’mores, outdoor cooking, games with a touch of adventure and team building skills help to give campers an experience they will always remember. There are convenient pick up and drop off locations throughout the East End of Long Island. A coach bus full of staff members can wait for your child as they arrive to start their adventure.

The safety and well being of every child is the most important aspect of Royal Teen Travel Camp. With over 25 years of camping experience between us, Royal Teen has the knowledge and expertise to provide campers, families and staff with the peace of mind that their summer experience is everything that they could wish for. Our experience has taught us that the better you plan, the better and safer things will turn out. Every detail is accounted for such as staff, hotels, bus routes, restaurants, and reservations. Royal Teen is accessible to campers, their families and staff 24 hours a day. The number one goal at Royal Teen Travel Camp is to provide campers with a safe and adventurous summer.
