Shop ‘til You Drop...

Sitting in the loft where I write this column every week, Pink Floyd’s The Wall playing on my iPod in the background, I have been looking out the large windows and thinking about what a beautiful day it has been. From the view at the top of the stairs, everything here looks peaceful and sunny. It could be 80 degrees outside – who would know from sitting here in this, the best seat in the house? Just yesterday, however, I was bundled up, fighting the 30 mph winds and icy roads, doing what I love to do…… shop! Let’s do it!

Purchase a top-rated treadmill or elliptical, and get an exercise bike or home gym free. There are may other giveaway specials available here, so get physical and get going while the sale lasts. They have fabulous denim tapestry jackets, hand-made by East Hampton’s infamous Amy Zerner, who has also created clothing for Elizabeth Taylor and Patti LaBelle, hand-made, one-of-a-kind dolls by Romin Nader, Dan McAllister’s one-of-a-kind birdhouses made of salvaged materials from torn-down houses, Nancy Robbins mugs featuring names of local towns and hamlets, hand-thrown green pottery by David Framm and unique, primitive painted boxes made by Joyce Klein.

In Sag Harbor at Fishers Home Furnishings main store and annex on Main Street, you can shop their Annual Sale and save from 20% to 50% off storewide…… Look for sofas, end and sofa tables, chests, hutches, dining sets, buffets, throws, pottery, and more. This is a once per year happening. I wait for this sale every year and always manage to find something special for my home. The sale will run from now until February 25..
