It’s official — Hamptonites
Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky are engaged! Howard’s daughter,
Emily Stern, also got engaged to her boyfriend last week, and the
whole family was seen celebrating the good news at Jean Georges.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s
list of 2006’s most generous philanthropists has been released,
and donors from New York and the Hamptons are all over the list,
as usual. Southampton’s Ron Perelman gave $60.8 million to
charity last year, and Dan’s Papers movie reviewer and former
Mayor Ed Koch gave $55 million. Current New York City Mayor Bloomberg
was No. 9 on the list, donating $165 million to charity in 2006
alone.

After hosting The History Channel’s
“Digging for the Truth” for three years, Hamptonite
Josh Bernstein will be joining the Discovery Channel in April to
host and produce specials covering topics that range from anthropology
to environmental issues.

Hamptons renter Anna Anisamova’s
big sister, Angelina Anisamova, and her husband-to-be, Ryan Freedman,
recently purchased a $7 million loft on Manhattan’s Upper
East Side. They plan to live in their new 5,000 sq. ft. apartment
after their three-day wedding in St. Petersburg, where they will
say their vows in front of important Russian celebrities and political
figures, including President Vladimir Putin.

East Hamptonite Steven Spielberg
was at the Waverly Inn in Manhattan dining with his goddaughter,
Gwyneth Paltrow. At a nearby table, Hamptons tennis star John McEnroe
was celebrating his birthday with friends.

Palm Beach hosted the Hamptons set
this President’s Day weekend, and former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani
and his wife, Judy, were among the revelers, as were Regina and
Bill Diamond, Denise and John Calicchio, and novelist Mary Higgins
Clark.

East Hamptonite and Dan’s Papers
Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Dan Rattiner’s gallery opening
for his current exhibition of cartoons, titled “Ode to The
East End,” was a great success. Among the 300 art lovers present
at the Ferregut Gallery were Vered and her partner Janet Lehr, artists
Mickey Paraskevas and Cuca Romley, graphic artist Walter Bernard,
television personality and style maven Lauren Ezersky, celebrity
psychics Amy and Monte Farber, Christine and Michael Aaron of Sherry-Lehman,
and Christine Wasserstein. The gallery is open Friday through Sunday,
1 p.m. to 6 p.m and the show is up until March 20.

Southamptonite Paris Hilton celebrated
her 26th birthday last week with an avant-garde bash at Las Vegas’
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with her sister, Nicky Hilton, best
friend Nicole Ritchie, and a monkey amid a sea of midgets and goats.

Tuesday’s fundraiser for Senator
Barack Obama at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles was a smashing
success, due in part to the efforts of East Hamptonite Steven Spielberg,
Jeffrey Katzenberg’s superb event hosting talents, and the
generosity of David Geffen, who offered up his home as the venue
for the ultra-exclusive after-party dinner.

Last week, Dia Art Foundation, of
which Bridgehampton’s Dan Flavin museum is a part, announced
the appointment of Jeffrey Weiss, former curator and head of the
Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Gallery
of Art in Washington, D.C., as Dia’s new director. Former
Dia director Michael Govan is moving on to become the director of
the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Hamptons plein air artist, Casey
Chalem Anderson, will be interviewed by Jay Schneiderman on Plum
TV Channel 18, on the “Morning, Noon and Night Show”
at 8 a.m., 3 p.m. and again at 8 p.m., starting this Friday, February
23.

Michael and Betty Paraskevas’
short film, Mystic Knights of the Loom, a short made with sock puppets,
will be screened at the upcoming 1st San Francisco International
Children’s Film Festival from March 2-4. The festival is at
WonderCon, at the Moscone Center South in downtown San Francisco,
and will showcase more than 90 short films from around the world,
clustered for different age groups, including live-action, animation
and documentaries. Their upcoming book, Chocolate at the Four Seasons,
will be available at the Paraskevas Gallery and all bookstores on
March 1.

Jennifer Marchese, a real estate
agent at the Real Estate Store in Westhampton and blueberry farmer
from Manorville, was flown out to Las Vegas by Golden Boy Productions
to sing the National Anthem for the Sugar Shane Mosely fight at
Mandalay Bay for such notable celebrities as Donald Trump and Don
King.

Joe Carson, 23, of Hampton Bays,
and Ine Auroemo, 20, from Southampton, won Gurney’s 1st annual
Longest Kiss Contest with their six-hour long kiss. The couple received
a seven-day resort vacation and a Valentine’s dinner for two
from Gurney’s Inn, as well as a love seat from Casual Home
Furnishings of Southampton. Second prize went to Julie Winn, 44,
of Patchogue and Kevin Graf, 46, of Wading River, who received a
Valentine’s Dinner for two. A dozen couples from all over
Long Island had signed up for the competition and drew a crowd of
more than 500 people. Wendy Summers, daytime host of Love Radio,
96.1 f.m., covered the event live and played love songs.

The annual Love, Life and Lingerie
Fashion Show, to benefit South Fork Breast Coalition at the Southampton
Publick House last week, was a smashing success, earning close to
$23,000. The event was hosted by John Lynch of WBAZ 102.5, Emceed
by Nikki, popular host of “Old School in the Morning”
on The Beat 101.7, with music by DJ Chris from Sounds Incredible.
The evening’s organizers, Susan Barylski, Cindy Grant, Susan
Barry Roden, Bernadette Meade, Martha Rogers and Cayce Adams, found
a dazzling array of models to strut the catwalk, including Dr. Vito
Alamia from Hamptons Gynecology and Obstetrics, plastic and reconstructive
surgeon Dr. James Brady, James Amaden, Tom Cohill, Corcoran Group’s
Fabio Velez, oncologist Dr. Steven Sugarman, professional basketball
player Levy Mwanza, Hamptons.com publisher Robert Florio, Gil Ferrer
Salon colorist Cory McCutcheon (who sported pink locks for the show),
Ellen Cea, Stephanie Di Tullio, Laurie Gordon, Nadja James, Jennylynn
Jankesh, Vivienne Keegan, Karyn Mannix, and Sara Nightingal of the
eponymous gallery. The ladies’ ensembles were donated by Top
Drawer in East Hampton and over 100 local businesses donated prizes
for the Chinese auction.

On March 12, five individuals who
have dedicated their careers to excellence in the arts will be honored
at the Symphony Space Gala at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan. The
Honorees of this year’s gala are Jacques d’Amboise,
David W. Levinson, Fionnula Flanagan, Elizabeth Richebourg Rea,
and George Wein. The Gala will be hosted by actress Jane Curtin
and Symphony Space Artistic Director Isaiah Sheffer, and chaired
by Marcia Santoni and John Morris. The evening’s entertainment
will include performances by dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade
and Grammy-nominated jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis, as well as special
presentations by Jerome A. Chazen, National Endowment for the Arts
Chairman Dana Gioia, and Kenneth Fisher.
