A picture says a thousand words, as they say. There are two photography shows, in Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor, that capture the spirit of Valentine's Day with opening receptions on this special day, February 14, with special pictures.

Anne Drager of Montauk has an ongoing exhibit of the romantic color photographs from the most romantic city - Venice - at Pierre's Restaurant on Main Street, Bridgehampton. This show, called "Letters From Venice," is the result of Drager's two-month stay in Venice, where she went in 2006 to recover from a failed love affair.

"I wanted to write to him, but instead I decided to photograph my letters, set amidst the romantic canals and ancient city of Venice," said Drager, who threw herself into her photography, capturing the statues, masks, roses and couples kissing in the streets. Her exhibit runs through March 4, with the opening reception on February 14, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Also on Valentine's Day, Tulla Booth Gallery, on Main Street, Sag Harbor, will present the opening reception for its fine art exhibit "Love & Politics," which runs from February 14 through March 30. It features the romantic and political photographs of three well-known artists: Michael Cardacino, Burt Glinn and Bert Stern. Stern, of Sag Harbor, is known for his famous photo series on Marilyn Monroe. The February 14 reception is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to both shows, to view some romantic artwork and enjoy some treats - all in the tradition of the Hamptons art galleries.
