Billy Joel has recorded a song for his wife, Katie Lee Joel, a.k.a.
East End Girl, titled “All My Life.” The last time Joel
sang about his wife was in “Uptown Girl,” which he wrote
for Bridgehampton beauty and now ex-wife Christie Brinkley.

Donald Trump joined Co-Chair and animal advocate Frances Hayward
and Chairs Lois Pope and Mary Montgomery in the Grand Ballroom of
“Mar-a-Lago” for the Palm Beach Zoo’s annual gala.
Guests included Mrs. Frances Scaife, Mr. Tom McCarter, Pauline Pitt,
and Pepe and Lourdes Fanjul. To the music of Bob Hardwick, Sotheby’s
Hugh Hilldesly auctioned off wonderful donated items, including
a 15-foot porcelain tiger designed by Lynn Chase.

new paintings by Michael Paraskevas, at his show that’s opening

During Olympus Fashion Week in New York City, Hamptons’ designer
Jackie Rogers showed her Fall 2007 Collection at the gentleman’s
club Scores West. Inspired by 1920s Bauhaus Germany, the entire
collection will be available at her East Hampton Boutique next season.

Bill and Hillary Clinton threw a party for DNC’s Terry McAuliffe
to celebrate his new book, What A Party, at the Four Seasons, where
guests Robert Zimmerman, Ed Koch, Barbara Walters and Cheri Kaufman
talked politics and literature.

House & Garden editor Dominique Browning called upon the talents
of Hamptonites Tony Ingrao, Robert Wilson and Isaac Mizrahi to design
tables for the Botanical Garden’s Orchid dinner at the Rainbow
Room last Tuesday. Sarah Ferguson and Harry Slatkin created their
own table, inspired by the Duchess’ family tartan and her
new tea-scented candle line, available through Slatkin & Co.

Southampton’s Ferregut Tower Gallery is pleased to display
87 pen and ink drawings created by Dan Rattiner over the past 40
years in the upcoming show, Ode to the East End. The show will open

in the front row at fellow Hamptonite Douglas Hannant’s showing
of his Fall 2007 collection at Gotham Hall last week in NYC.

The Bridge Hampton Historical society recently published a pamphlet
stating that Bobby Van, founder of the eponymous eatery in town,
died in the 1980s. Dan’s Papers would like to reassure the
good people of Bridgehampton (and Mr. Van) that Bobby Van is, in
fact, alive and well.

The Bard Music Festival, now celebrating its 18th season on the
Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, and the Music Festival
of the Hamptons have joined forces to create the Bard Music Festival
of the Hamptons, scheduled for the weekends of July 13-16 and July
19-22. Leon Botstein, Christopher H. Gibbs, and Robert Martin will
serve as artistic directors of the new festival. Michael Guttman
and Lukas Foss will retain their roles as artistic directors under
the guidance of Irene Zedlacher, executive director of the Bard
Music Festival.

John Kowalenko, Cheryl Stair and Michelle Moliski, of Art of Eating
Catering/Hamptons Event Management International, just returned
from The Special Event, the premier annual tradeshow and conference
in Los Angeles for event professionals in the United States, and
will be using their new knowledge to make parties in the Hamptons
even more exciting than last season.

Hamptonite designer Joanna Mastroianni was one of the select few
designers chosen to host her Fall 2007 collection under the tents
in Bryant Park for Fashion Week.

Kazdin Pools has won an award of merit from the Northeast Spa and
Pool Assoc. in a competition held in Sept. 2006 for the freeform
pool they built for Deirdre Kiddre in Sag Harbor.

The Long Island Game Farm has welcomed two homeless animals from
the Catskill Game Farm – a camel named Catskill and a male
cougar. The Game Farm is asking children ages 12 and under to submit
their suggestions for a name for the new cougar. For more information,

a kickoff cocktail reception and auction preview to toast the sponsors,
committees and supporters of the upcoming Great Chefs Dinner at

Josh Capon, Lizz Salaway, Susan Ringo Sonnenfeld, John McDonald,
James Nederlander, Mercedes Ruehl, Ann Watt and Stuart Match Suna

King Kullen Grocery Company recently presented a check for $100,000
to Little Flower Children Services of Wading River, an organization
that finds adoptive and foster homes for children on Long Island
and New York City. The money was raised through King Kullen’s
annual James A. Cullen Memorial Golf Outing.

Gary de Persia, Senior Vice President of the Corcoran Group’s
East Hampton office, was named the top Corcoran broker on the East
End at the company’s annual awards dinner at the Hammerstein
Ballroom in New York City. Joan Rivers acted as Master of Ceremonies
and Pamela Leibman, president and Chief executive officer of the
Corcoran Group, presented the awards.
