Every year on December 31, the world unites as we hold our breath and cheer as the clock strikes midnight. This year, say your farewells to 2007 and express your joy and hope for the year ahead at your local restaurant.
Southampton Publick House will offer a special prix fixe on New Year's Eve from 5 to 10 p.m. The three-course special is $40 per person plus tax and gratuity. The celebration continues in the Taproom beginning at 10 p.m. with a DJ, party favors and a midnight champagne toast. There is a $10 cover charge at the door. The Patio at 54 Main in Westhampton Beach offers a prix fixe menu from 4 to 7 p.m. for $25 per person and $12.50 for children under age 12, plus tax and gratuity. At 9 p.m. the celebration continues. Enjoy cocktail hour, passed hors d'oeuvres, a four-course dinner, live music and dancing for $75 per person plus tax, gratuity and beverages. WEI FUN in East Hampton will be offering their "WEI two FUN" family style prix fixe. The menu is served family style for $19 per guest, there is a minimum of two people for this promotion and it is not available for takeout; the regular menu will also be served. Annona Restaurant in Westhampton Beach kicks off New Year's Eve at 6 p.m. with dinner followed by an after-dinner dance party beginning at 10 p.m. One will have a chance to win a 2007 Porsche Cayman S valued at $62,000. It will be won through a raffle to benefit Peconic Bay Medical Center. One thousand tickets at $100 each will be sold. Tierra Mar in Westhampton Beach presents a la carte dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a New Year's Eve bash from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. The night includes serving stations, open bar and live music by the Billy Hill Band. Stations include raw bar, sushi bar, pasta, fruits, vegetables, cheese, carving station, Viennese station with chocolate fountain and coffee/tea. Legends Restaurant in New Suffolk rings in the New Year and celebrates their 14th anniversary with a special evening featuring dinner and music. Dinner will include a selection of popular menu items and New Year's Eve specials. Reservations are available beginning at 5 p.m. Prentiss McNeill with Fred Miner & Sahara will perform live oldies music in the pub beginning at 9 p.m. Admission is $15 for bar seating ($10 in advance) and $20 per person in the dining room (based on 4 guests per table). Wildthyme Restaurant and Bar in Southampton rings in 2008 with "The Magic Eight Ball." The celebration features an eight-course dinner created by executive chef Michael Gomez paired with wines. Guests may dance into 2008 while a DJ spins tunes. Magic 8-tinis, champagne and fine wine will flow all night. Dinner will be served beginning at 8 p.m. and costs $125 per person. Drinks will be available for $50 per person at 11 p.m. A special three-course prix fixe will also be available for $29 per person from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Black tie is optional. MUSE Restaurant & Aquatic Lounge in Water Mill presents a special four-course dinner in honor of the new year on New Year's Eve. The first seating will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for $55 per person.
