SMILE!
Dear Dan,
Dear Barry Gordin,
Thank you so very much for including "Surface Library Rallies for Rush" in Gordin's View. It's always such a thrill to be in Dan's and it was even more special since this event was a fundraiser to bring art to disadvantaged children. Thanks again for your support Dan and Barry!
Best,
Lynn Stefanelli

EAST END GOOSEBUMPS
Dear Dan,
Many thanks for the coverage of the inaugural Peconic Bay Polar Bear Plunge in Jamesport on December 1. Not knowing what to expect for the first year, we were pleasantly surprised when 125 people ran like crazy into the 40-degree water to benefit Peconic Bay Medical Center's Emergency Department.
Some of our intrepid plungers were shown in the photo misidentified in last week's issue as the 2006 Cooper's Beach plunge. We're particularly grateful for their frigid philanthropy and look forward to their again risking an acute case of cutis anserina (goosebumps) this time next year.
Best of luck to all those plunging at Cooper's Beach on December 15. May your towels be plentiful and warm.

JACKO
I bet many of your readers don't know that Michael Jackson's video "Bad" was partially recorded at the Hampton Bays subway station back in the 80s. This was not a reference to the subway service either.
On another matter, the light bulb thief must also be the same character that has been urinating on the extreme west end of the Hampton Bays station. The odor is horrendous! Also, where can I get my 2 cents back for the chicklets I never got out of the vending machine?
Best Regards,

Of course we know about Michael Jackson. The commissioner has a framed poster of "Bad" in his office. - DR
B. Smiths Cioppino Recipe
Dear Dan,
I read the article that you had online for your August 2007 issue of the ten questions for B. Smith. I would like to know if there is a way to get her actual Cioppino recipe so that I may try her version of Cioppino. I saw her advertisement with GE appliances and they showed a photo of her and her husband Dan having a bowl of the soup. This would mean a lot to me to have her recipe, though it is not listed on her website with many of her other recipes.
Thank you.

SEA ROAD
Dear Dan,
Do you know where the 88 acre White farm is? It looks like Hedges from the map, but I can't find anything that big that isn't already preserved. When was this gift actually made?
Thanks,
