The Picture Show will present actor Eli Wallach in conversation with film critic Jeffrey Lyons, live on stage after a screening of the The Misfits on Friday, December 15 at 8 p.m., at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. The following evening is a conversation with Lauren Bacall and Sidney Lumet, also hosted by Jeffrey Lyons, following the screening of Murder On The Orient Express, also at 8 p.m. Proceeds go toward supporting The Picture Show at Bay Street programming. Jim Dolan’s band, J.D. & The Straight Shot, performed at B.B. King’s blues bar in New York City last week to benefit the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research for an audience of A-list celebrities, including Sag Harbor’s own Allan Houston, models Jennifer Ohlsson, Camilla Thorsson, and Victoria’s Secret Angel Selita Ebanks.

Supermodel and Hamptonite Christy Turlington is also a supermom. She had to miss hubby Ed Burns’ Grand Classics screening of The Last Picture Show at Soho House to stay home with the kids, but the event was still a smash. Attendees included director Whit Stillman, designers Anait Bian, Geoffrey Bradfield, Alex Wraith, Mark Langrish and Kate Schelter. Burns went home with a surprise for his supermodel wife — an 18-karat, yellow gold “Christy” pendant from Tous jewelers.

Event planner Alison Minton hosted her signature Party in Style at Judith Ripka’s flagship boutique on Madison Avenue last week. Guests including Hamptons fashion designer Jackie Rogers, actress Christy Scott Cashman, Michel Witmer, Michele Gerber Klein, Alex Wraith, Dr. Peter Theodorou, Emma Snowden-Jones, Melissa Berkelhammer and Dr. Eric Berger all shopped for sparkling gems at the party to benefit The Humane Society of New York. Minton plans to bring the successful parties to the Hamptons next summer.

East Ender Janna Bullock, Gregory and Muffie Potter Aston, also hosted a benefit for Memorial Sloane Kettering, with a guest list that included designers Dennis Basso, Tory Burch, Douglas Hannant, Carolina Herrera, Francisco Costa, Michael Kors, Nicole Miller, Ralph Lauren, Cynthia Rowley, Alvin Valley and Vera Wang, who all had decorated containers filled with fabulous materials by Meredith Waga Pérez of Belle Fleur, which were sold in a silent auction to support The Center’s holiday decorations in future seasons. Topping it all off, Southampton’s Steven Stolman designed a t-shirt with a star made of Swarovski Crystals to raise even more funds for the cause. Southampton’s Jamee Gregory spearheaded a campaign to redo Memorial Sloane Kettering’s décor for the first time in twelve years with the help of Jessie Araskog, Joanne de Guardiola, Bambi de la Gueronniere, Leslie Perkin and Clelia Zacharias. The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation funded the decoration, and Bridgehampton’s Bill Tansey designed and installed the new décor.

Jennifer Ruby Morris of Bridgehampton, member of the Civilian Theatre Group and star of the most recent touring production of Matt & Ben, the critically-acclaimed hit musical based on the friendship of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, is now being featured in a national TV commercial for iVillage.com.

Sag Harbor’s Joe Lauro, of Historic Films, has reunited the original Dream Girls, Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong, and the family of Florence Ballard for a Motown/Universal DVD titled Reflections: The Ultimate Supremes Performances. This is first time all the girls have agreed to be in the same project since 1969!

An anonymous donor awarded the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation $100,000 to be applied towards construction costs of the future Performing Arts Center. In addition, the donor pledged a matching grant for up to $100,000, matching new donations of $5,000 or more received by October 15, 2007 dollar-for-dollar.

Long Islander, actor and now discussion-moderator Alec Baldwin traveled to Rutgers University Law School in Newark last week to discuss the renewal of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant’s lease renewal, which would enable the plant to continue to operate until the year 2029.
