East End Kid: Big Apple Circus
By Emily Hart Post
With a little help from Katlean de Monchy and David Post
One of my favorite things of the year is to go to the premiere of the Big Apple Circus. It always starts with my going over to the VIP area and getting a picture with "Grandma" although now I call him "Grandpa." I also got a picture with Meredith Viera of the "Today Show" who Mom seems to know. Then we see friends and talk to the performers before going to our seats for the big event. This year there was very different. There were acts that were very funny - I loved the Bees and laughed so loud. There were acrobats and a troupe from Russia (I think) that send some of the performers all the way up to the top of the big tent and they landed on little chairs. That was cool. I won't tell you any more. You need to see the show for yourself. And Big Apple Circus does great things for the communities around the country, especially going to hospitals to perform for patients.
