Shop 'til You Drop

Although things are pretty quiet out east and the traffic has died down quite a bit, people are shopping as usual. The stores are trying to sell off their summer merchandise to make room for fall and winter, so the sales are good. Let's do some fall shopping!

I found a very unique and exclusive to the East End Clock Shop at 48A West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, called Daughter Time, that I would like to share with my readers. I have a beautiful wall clock that I call a "Grandmother Clock" that was in dire need of maintenance and repair, so I took it to see the clock doctor, Alex Joseph. He quickly gave me the entire lowdown on what we have to do to keep our clocks ticking and chiming, so I left my precious possession with him. The store also offers sales and repairs on all clocks, installs watch batteries and crystals while you wait, and sells watchbands and wristwatches. Right now, there is a 20% off sale on Eco-Drive Citizen watches with solar power. For information, call 631-728-7075.

If you are getting ready for fall parties and get-togethers, stop in at Fandango, on Main Street in Hampton Bays, for a look at the new fall lineup in women's clothing and accessories. Love, love this shop.

The Broken Colour Works home décor stores, on Division and Bay Street in Sag Harbor (631-725-6152) and on Main Street in Southampton (631-259-3612), are holding a clearance sale with all stock in the Sag Harbor store marked at up to 50% off and all Southampton store items up to 30% off. The stores are making room for the arrival of the new Annie Selke Home line from Vanguard furniture, a collection of new upholstery and case goods designed by Annie Selke, the founder and creative force behind home design trio Pine Cone Hill, Dash & Albert, and Potluck Studios. Broken Colour Works has the exclusive on this exciting new line for Sag Harbor and Southampton, so don't pass this one by.

Apricot Lane Fashion and Gift Boutique, at 100 Main St., Southampton, is having a "Fall Fashion Sale and Party" on Tuesday, September 30, from 6-8 p.m. There will be 20% off your entire purchase, plus door prizes, gift card giveaways and free light refreshments. Everybody is welcome and there's no purchase necessary. Great fall fashions, fun and 2008 Jim Shore Christmas releases are available.

The amazing and fantastic 50% off sale at Victoria's Mother, on the walkway at 64 Jobs Lane, Southampton, is continuing along nicely and there is still plenty of stock left, with many treasures to be had. Victoria's Mother is closing and is saying to all her friends and customers with a heavy heart, "Goodbye, it's been good to know you sale." Andrea, the owner, hopes to be open for everyone to take advantage of this heck of a sale through Saturday, October 11. For information and to say goodbye after all these years, call 631-287-0745.

Twist, on Jobs Lane in Southampton, is having a sale on select merchandise, getting everyone in gear for the fall season.

Chico's, also on Jobs Lane, is joining in the sale fever with a hot 10 to 15% off select women's clothing, jewelry and accessories. Get going while they last.

At Sunrise to Sunset, on Hill Street, you will find a very interesting clearance sale throughout the store. This is an outdoor/indoor stop and shop...

In Bridgehampton, at 2408 Main Street, Country Gear is having a very special "Moving...Next Door Sale" and in the upcoming weeks will be offering 25% off many of its beautiful showroom samples. Items included in this sale are tables, chairs, buffets and some select lighting and accessories. Call 631-537-1032 for further information or if you are looking for something extra special.

Until next week, Ciao and early fall shopping!
