CNN's Lou Dobbs and his wife Debi spent the holiday week cheering daughter Hillary, who trains with Missy Clark and John Brennan of North Run, during the show jumping competitions at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. The 19-year-old Harvard student is ranked 26th in the Grand Prix show jumping rankings and placed second over Olympian Joe Fargis at last week's $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge.

Patricia Watt, theatrical producer, is venturing into the world of film by producing Mark Mitchell's Lizst for President, a timely mockumentary about the electoral process. It was filmed in the Hamptons and New York with local actors Larry Pine, Paul Hecht, Yancy Butler, Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach. It should be ready for submission to Sundance and our own Hamptons International Film Festival shortly.

Last Wednesday night, tennis star Andy Roddick partied at Tenjune in East Hampton to celebrate his upcoming run in the US Open.

Chairman of The Theatre Museum, Stewart F. Lane (Mr. Broadway) from East Hampton will honor Ellen Burstyn for lifetime achievement on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park. Ben Brantley, senior drama critic for The New York Times and editor of The New York Times Book of Broadway: On the Aisle for the Unforgettable Plays of the Last Century, will receive the Award for Theatre History Preservation. Also being honored is Carmen de Lavallade, actor, dancer and choreographer who is being recognized for her work as professor at Yale University, director of Adelphi University's Dance Department and teacher for performing arts groups including the Julliard Dance Department, the American Dance Festival and the New Ballet School. As usual, Hamptons celebrities were munching up a storm at local restaurants last week. Joy Behar, David Yurman and Billy and Katie Lee Joel were at at East Hampton Point, while Jon Bon Jovi, George Stephanapoulous and Peter Cook took dates out to Wei Fun, also in East Hampton. Alec Baldwin also ate at Wei Fun, but he decided to dine with his daughter, Ireland, and her friend. Heather Mills and a party of five also enjoyed Wei Fun last weekend. Wei Fun didn't steal all the fun, though. East Hampton's Della Femina hosted Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi, Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky and Matt Lauer and Annette Roque Lauer. Nick & Toni's also saw some celebrity clients, including Victoria Tennant, Ron Perelman, Mort Zuckerman, David Geffen, Patricia Bradley, Donald and Melania Trump, Loraine Boyle and James Lipton. Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos dined with friends at MUSE Restaurant and Aquatic Lounge again on Wednesday, August 15. They enjoyed the Tuna Palooza, Really Really Soft Taco, Not Ya Mamma's Meatballs and the Horseradish and Gorgonzola Crusted, New York Strip.

Hampton fashion designer Joanna Mastroianni will show her Spring 2008 collection in the Bryant Park Tents on September 10, featuring her signature style that has been worn by Eva Longoria, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Halle Berry and Eva Mendes.

Heatherette's Richie Rich and Traver Rains and coiffeur Rodolfo Valentin invited Stephanie White of Lindenhurst, NY, a lymphoma survivor, for the ultimate makeover. Chosen out of more than 8,000 entries for MTV's My Super Sweet 16 contest, the teen received a long red dress with silver studs and long luxurious Hair Infusion extensions of brunette and wild red provided by the celebrity hairstylist to replace the hair she lost during chemotherapy. She was then whisked off to join friends, family and runners-up at a private party and concert by The Used, The Sleeping and My Chemical Romance.

Local resident Brett Kroeger wowed the judges as well as the spectators with her rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to win the Hampton Classic/WLIU 88.3 FM National Anthem Contest on Manhattan Mortgage's Hampton Classic Opening Day. The contest offered Kroeger the prestigious opportunity to perform the National Anthem in the Grand Prix arena prior to the featured competition, the $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge.

Local Hamptons glam-rap artists Team Facelift, who were recently titled MTV's "New Favorite Band from New York" after being named MTV's "Artists of the Week" on August 6, performed at the Star Room in Wainscott last Saturday night after attending the star-studded opening of Tripoli Patterson's Antique Barn Art Show in Southampton, which featured works by pro surfer Herbie Fletcher and local artists Sven Hokanson and Matisse Patterson. Look for a review of the show in this issue.

Peter Wylde, 2004 Show Jumping Olympic Team Gold Medalist, and Gael Force, owned by Missy Clark and North Run, sped to victory in the $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge on Manhattan Mortgage Company's Opening Day at the 32nd annual Hampton Classic Horse Show. This is the first time Wylde has ridden at the Classic in seven years. This was also the first time Wylde has ridden Gael Force - his famous mare, Fein Cera, is taking time off to have a foal. We'll keep our fingers crossed for her!
