Where to Lunch in Sag Harbor

If you happen to be strolling around or driving through Sag Harbor at noon and you feel your stomach starting to grumble, there are plenty of places offering various cuisines that can satisfy your lunch cravings.

If you're driving down Rte. 114 there are a couple of options before hitting the heart of Sag Harbor village. One choice is Estia's Little Kitchen located at 1615 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Tpke. This little gem has an extensive menu full of salads, sandwiches, omelets and other lunch specialties. For a small tease, there's Jessica's salad, consisting of roasted corn, tomato, red onion and cucumber, a Crispy Chicken BLT on a toasted roll with mayo and slaw, the Smoked Salmon Platter and a Breakfast Burrito stuffed with chorizo, eggs, onions, pepper and jack cheese. A little further down the road is one of the newest editions to Sag Harbor's dining establishments, Bay Burger located at 1742 Sag Harbor Tpke. This burger joint offers classic burgers, veggie burgers, grilled cheeses, and hot dogs in essentially any combination possible. Not to mention, they also offer fries, tots or a combination of the two. Bay Burger also carries homemade ice cream, which can be enjoyed alone or as a milkshake.

Upon entering the village, you are sure to pass many restaurants serving lunch on Main Street. If you want something fast that you can either eat-in or take-out, stop by The Golden Pear located at 111 Main Street. Golden Pear serves a variety of prepared foods as well as sandwiches, wraps, soups and assorted baked goods; they also have a "World Famous" Chili. If you just want a simple New York slice, you can visit Conca d'Oro located at 103 Main Street or go a little further down the road to Vincenzo's Pizza at 2 Main Street. For thin crust, brick oven pizza, make sure to visit Spinnakers at 63 Main Street. In addition to their new brick oven pizzas, Spinnakers offers seafood, salad, pasta, meat and sandwich dishes as well. If sushi is more your thing, Sen may tickle your fancy. Located at 23 Main Street, Sen delivers creative sushi rolls and classic favorites like spicy tuna, California and salmon rolls. Even if you don't like sushi, but the rest of your party insists on eating it, you can find numerous non-sushi items on Sen's menu. Another stop on Main Street that may seem hidden is Provisions Cafe offering lunch with a healthy twist. Provisions are a natural market serving a menu full of healthy eating options and lots of smoothies for a sweet treat.

Bay Street also offers a variety of lunch options. Tutto Il Giorno is new this season and located at 5 Bay Street. So far the restaurant has received attention for its chilled pea soup and in addition, Tutto offers a variety of house made pastas, including a spaghetti with fresh tomato and basil, and other Italian dishes, without the fuss, infused with local flavors. If you head further on Bay Street, you will eventually hit the Long Wharf Marina, home of B. Smith's. There is plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the water and the restaurant serves a mix of Cajun, seafood and southern tastes. Enjoy something from their raw bar, a bowl of gazpacho, crab cakes, calamari, lobster salad, BBQ Ribs and the list continues. B. Smith's also offers weekend brunch.

Another new addition to the Sag Harbor scene is Agave's South of the Border located at 138 Division Street. This restaurant offers a range of Mexican favorites like nachos, quesadillas, tacos, fajitas, burritos and enchiladas; it makes me hungry just thinking about it. Also on Division Street is Espresso serving an overwhelming amount of hot and cold heroes as well as sandwiches made on foccacia, and I've been told the foccacia should not be missed as they make it fresh. Espresso also serves salads, pastas and over 20 varieties of pizza. If you want to venture a little beyond the village, if you go past the 7-11, you will run into Beacon at 8 W. Water Street which started serving lunch this season Friday through Sunday. Already established for their dinner, Beacon now brings the experience to lunch by offering some of their dinner menu items in addition to the new lunch items. Pressed Panini sandwiches, creative salads and other fresh options are perfect for a light summer luncheon.

Hopefully one of these 12 options will intrigue your taste buds and you can leave Sag Harbor without a grumbling tummy as well as feeling full and satisfied.
