Rymer's catchy, fun music will get all generations up and dancing. Head on down to hear beautiful music, stories and experience the festivities and fun. The view is incredible and the day will be filled with excitement for children of all ages.
If you are a mom, you know Brady. His music captures the true essence of childhood. His Cd's "I've Found It," "Look at My Belly" and " Every Day is a Birthday" have won rave reviews and earned him a place on Amazon.com's "10 best list" in 2006. Rymer began his career with true rocker roots. He toured and recorded with the band From Good Homes for 13 years. He shared the stage with renowned musician's Dave Matthews, Bob Dylan and Bob Weir. While touring and recording were fun, Rymer became a dad and the rest, as they say, is music history. Rymer realized that there was a new genre of music that he had yet to explore. He became inspired by the every day happenings with his children, their friends, his neighbors. Fun songs and lyrics soon developed; and his career in children's music had begun; he has not looked back since. Rymer's first CD Good Morning Gus was released in 2000. With songs like "You've Got To Eat Your Fruits" and "Last Night in Utero," Rymer caught the attention of parents everywhere. His next CD, Look at My Belly, was released in 2002. Rymer went on to release I Found It in 2004 and Everyday is a Birthday in 2006. Along the way, Rymer and the Little Band That Could earned awards and recognition from I-Parenting Media, the Parents' Choice Foundation, the National Parenting Publications Association (NAPPA), Publisher's Weekly, and Dr. Toy.
Rymer is currently set to release a new CD Here comes Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could and will be performing some of his new songs at the Greenport event. Rymer looks forward to performing his new selection for the excited audience. "As a singer" states Rymer, "it's very exciting (to release the new songs to a captive audience) you aren't sure how it's going to sound; you have to truly be behind what you're doing. We feel really good about our new songs." Included on his new album are One True You and "Goodnight, Daisy" a song he wrote for/about his daughter. Rymer said that the keys to his happiness is writing/performing his music and "still having time to hang out with his family at home."
The Southold Mother's Club is all about family and is inviting all families to come down to this event. According to Mary Motto Kalich, the club is open for "everyone and anyone who has children." This is their 4th annual event. "In the beginning," said Mary "it started as a straight storytelling festival. We had Rymer as the finale. We found that his music had the kids jumping and dancing around; and the event just skyrocketed." This year their will be storytelling and face-painting. Rymer will be perform 2 sets with the Little Band that Could (at 2 and 4 p.m.) and will also feature wonderful local librarians in the "Dana and Joe Show" and "Shovel and Pail" with Southold Mother's Club's own very talented Maribeth Kavajian and Dwayne Carlson. With community sponsorship from the Village of Greenport and the East End Educational Enrichment Coalition, this year's event is bigger and better then ever. For more information on this event go to www.southoldmothers.org or contact Mary at 917-334-6639.
