Police Blotter

Bicycle

A man was charged with a hit and run after he accidentally injured a bicyclist while driving his car. The man saw the bicyclist lying on the side of the road and simply drove off. The bicyclist is okay, but the driver was in a world of trouble when police caught up with him. He will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving physical injury and he will also be charged with reckless driving.

Caught

A jewelry thief in East Hampton was caught last week after police found him in possession of stolen property worth $28,000. After an investigation, police were able to get the name of the thief and learned he has been evading officers for a year. After a tip that he was back on Long Island, they arrested Jordan Garrido for grand larceny.

Window Smash

There were several incidents of vandalism that included a smashed car window in Springs and a restaurant's window was badly cracked in Montauk. A full investigation is underway. If anybody has any information, please contact police.

Terrible

An off-duty Quogue Village police officer and passenger were killed in a horrible car accident last week. The two were killed driving a Ferrari that caught fire after crashing head on into a tree.

Theft

A man in Hampton Bays was caught stealing a variety of different seafood from a local seafood shop. The man tried to convince the shop owner that he intended to pay, but just forgot to.

Dine and Run

A restaurant in East Hampton had some trouble last week after a set of diners left without footing the bill. The four patrons left the restaurant without paying after ordering full meals, including drinks and dessert, then made a run for it out the door with nobody noticing until it was too late. Some employees of the restaurant recognized the patrons, however, and it is expected that justice will be served.

Argument

A public argument broke out in East Hampton regarding a parking spot on Main Street by the movie theater. The two car owners, not all that different from a "Seinfeld" episode, had a stand off that prevented each one from having the ability to park in the open spot. Witnesses saw the two men leave the area after others threatened to call the police.

Clothes Missing

A shop in Southampton reported that a woman walked into the shop wearing one pair of clothes, then out of the shop wearing another pair of clothes after she went to "try them on." She left her old clothes behind in the changing room.
