Trina Turk opened her first pop-up store over Memorial Day weekend. Previously available only in select boutiques in the Hamptons, the space represents Turk's first foray into an eponymous retail location in the area. Featuring 1,085 square feet of Trina Turk men and women's collections, the store features an extensive assortment of swimwear, as well as vintage patio furniture reupholstered in signature fabrics from the Trina Turk Indoor/Outdoor for Schumacher collection. The store will also carry select Trina Turk styles, available exclusively at the East Hampton location. The theme of the space, "chic beach shack," will also be reflected in the paintings that Turk selected specifically to showcase and sell in the store. Artist Warner Baird, previously a graphic designer at Coca Cola, created the series of one-of-a-kind pieces, titled "California Girls" in the late '60s and early '70s, with each painting named after a particular girl. Meet Annie, of Peter & Annie, Southampton |
Correction: In last week's New Kid entry, Peter and Annie, 42A Jobs Lane, Southampton, was written as if Annie (shown in the photo) was Altona's daughter/owner. Well, meet Annie, who is Peter's beautiful dog, his mom, who owns Altona, is Caroline Freese. Does that clear it up? I hope so! - MT
