Despite the current economic recession, this past Holiday weekend in the Hamptons was stronger than ever and the nightlife was no exception. A few cases in point......

Lily Pond nightclub in East Hampton exploded back onto the late night scene this past Saturday night. VIPs including NHL's Sean Avery and John Legend helped kick off the festivities. As you can see from the photo, love was in the air. Legend spent the entire evening in a private corner booth, snuggled up alongside his girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen. When the two lovebirds weren't cooing, they took mini breaks and hit the dance floor.

Sunday evening in Southampton, the experimental branding partnership between Dune Nightclub and Axe men's grooming products turned out to be a huge success thanks to nightlife dream team; Mike Heller, Matt Shendell, Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss. Shendell is confident The Axe Lounge will be the ultimate summer destination and told me, "This summer - we wanna take it to another level. We wanna combine a celebrity environment with performances and just give the clients a better experience for their summer vacation." Hundreds of partygoers and several VIPs including NY Knicks Forward Al Harrington, Paul Sevigny, Super Model Cheyenne, Aaron Reid, DJ Berrie, Mark Packer, Sasha (from "American Idol"), Ashley Bush, Elizabeth Arden's NYC Red Door Salon superstar team - genius colorist "HOLLYWOOD" a.k.a. Holly Bromberg and celebrity hair stylist Jasmine Galazka - partied in the official Axe Lounge while waiting for LMFAO (loving my friends and others) to hit center stage and perform live. At approximately 1 a.m. Amanda Mitchell announced, "LMFAO is here!" Suddenly, two human beat boxes, Sky Blu and Redfoo, arrived on the scene like a tidal wave of Red Bull and instantly lifted the spirits of any club kid in their path. The duo was dressed from head to toe in Party Rock apparel which you can actually purchase at partyrocklife.com. Both artists donned oversized white sunglass frames and boasted, "We wake up in the morning and we dress like this!" Now, don't let these larger than life Electro/Hip-Hop characters fool you - they mean some serious business. Redfoo told me LMFAO has a real mission, "Your dreams! We have a song called 'Everyday I See My Dream' which will get you out of the recession, because you will be thinking what you want, whether it's money, a honey or to be famous." Post photographs and my interview with the group, Skyblu and Redfoo slipped into the club to freshen up. Tepperberg arrived at 1:30 a.m. By 1:40 a.m. Heller gave the signal for LMFAO to officially get the party started. At 2 a.m. the crowd was out of control when LMFAO appropriately altered the lyrics to their hit single and performed, "I'm in the Hamptons Bitch!"

Late night this Saturday, May 30, Nick Cannon and his wife, Mariah Carey are rumored to make a surprise appearance at The Axe Lounge. This Sunday, I want to wish my fav fur-kid. Ava Bear a very healthy and happy two-year-old birthday! Until next week - Life is short, you only live once, so party on!
