Matto, the authentic Trattoria on North Main Street in East Hampton, will be celebrating their one-year anniversary on Thursday, June 5 starting at 5 p.m. To celebrate, chef Franco Russo will be preparing his specialty pastas all night long and will present each table with a complimentary bowl of his creations. Following this one-year mark, Matto will begin its second season serving dinner Monday through Friday beginning at 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday beginning at 12 noon for lunch and continuing into dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Takeout is always available featuring their famous homemade pizzas and the full menu. A full service bar, now offering beer and wine list, a full cocktail menu with specialty drinks such as the Matto-tini and the Peachy Pometini. Townline BBQ in Sagaponack is now open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner starting at 11:30 a.m. Townline will also be offering a daily lunch special from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. The lunch special changes daily but always consists of two meats and two sides for $8.50. It is available to stay or to go. They will also be having happy hour Monday - Friday from 4-6 p.m. with $5 beer and cocktails and $6 glasses of wine. Nick & Toni's in East Hampton is now open seven days a week starting at 6 p.m. They have also added some new menu items to their menu. New menu items include: fricco with montasio cheese, grilled asparagus, smoked bacon and pea vines; local Montauk fluke crudo with sliced radishes, fresh mint, cold pressed olive oil and sea salt; house made orecchiette alla boscaiola with crumbled sweet sausage and shiitake mushrooms; crispy soft shell crabs with warm fennel, radish, snow pea salad and aioli; cannoli with pistachio lace cookie, ricotta cream and chocolate sauce; and rhubarb semifreddo with amaretto sponge cake. Sunset Café in Westhampton Beach now offers a variety of lunch sandwich specials. Selections include: honey mustard chicken with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers on your choice of bread; veggie tuna dijon on bread, wrap or pita; whole-wheat pita stuffed with organic baby spinach and arugula, cucumber, chickpeas, and Bermuda onion topped with tzatziki sauce; smoked salmon with scallion cream cheese, cucumber, onion and lettuce on pumpernickel; and smoked turkey with chevre, organic baby spinach, cranberry, and jalapeño jam on pumpernickel. All sandwiches are made on Kara's organic breads and are accompanied by side salad. Sunset Café also serves fine, organic grown coffees, cappuccinos and numerous coffee concoctions. Chef Pasquale Langella of Tutto Italiano, in East Hampton, demonstrates and serves handmade mozzarella in-store every weekend throughout the summer. Customers will be able to see this fascinating presentation on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1 p.m. Demonstrations are free. Langella, a native of Napoli, Italy, was taught how to make fresh mozzarella by his grandmother. The 30-minute process features just a few ingredients including whole milk, piping hot water (a staggering 150 degrees), and a handful of salt.
