Southampton writer Jay McInerney and his lovely new wife, Anne Hearst, attended Dan's Hampton Style's cocktail party at the Glenn Horowitz Bookseller in East Hampton last Saturday. Some of the Hamptons guests included Dan's blogger Alyssa Shelasky, David Lion Rattiner, Julia Nasser, Eric Rippert, Deb Schoeneman, Richard Johnson and Phil Witt.

Noyac's Linda Stocknoff was honored at the Dancing with the Stars of Parsons Gala to benefit Parsons Dance founded by internationally acclaimed choreographer/dancer David Parsons. She was saluted for her longtime devotion and support of the dance troupe by the dance world's leading supporters, including Stephanie French, Stephen Morris, Barbara Rohdie, Judy and Hal Prince, Annie Leibovitz, Mary Sharp Cronson, Neil Guiliano, Alexander Dube, Howell Binkley, Lois Greenfield, Jill & Jay Bernstein, Susan Stroman and producer Marty Richards.

Richard Kessler was honored at the Brooklyn Philharmonic Spring Gala at the Brooklyn Museum. Mr. Kessler is a member of the board of the School of American Ballet and is co-chairman of its Corporate Advisory Board and an executive committee of the Urban Land Institute. David Arena, Paul J. Massey and Robert Knakal were also honored at the event, which featured a special performance by members of the orchestra under musical director Michael Christie.

Internationally acclaimed vocalist and composer Tiye Giraud has returned to the Hayground School for her annual music residency. Her voice can be heard on the late Kurt Vonnegut's Ice 9 Ballads 9 and has performed and recorded with legendary folk singer Odetta. On May 24, she and her students at the school will perform a concert of South African songs.

Southampton rider Brianne Goutal was recently honored with the United States Equestrian Team Foundation's Maxine Beard Show Jumping Developing Rider Award.

Emmy and Tony award-winning choreographer Patricia Birch, mother of Alison Becker Hurt of Alison's in Bridgehampton, was nominated for a Drama Desk Award last week for her work in the new musical about the love affair between Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya, Love/Musik. The announcement was made at the Friars Club at a breakfast organized by Southampton's Randie Levine Miller.

Joanne Woodward, Paul Newman, Polly Bergen, Bob Weinstein, James Naughton, Christie Todd Whitman, Kenneth Cole, Victoria Clark and A.R. Gurney were all at New York City Center's Spring Gala, honoring Pat and Jesse Lovejoy on Monday, May 14 at the New York City Center Atrium.

Lucia's Angels, a new foundation under the umbrella of the South Fork Breast Health Coalition founded in memory of East End philanthropist and food-lover, Lucia Terzi Bagan, will be hosing its' first annual "Guest Chef Dinner" at the Tuscan House in Southampton on Sunday, May 20th. The guest chef at the event will be Debbie Cirruzzo of La Carezza Salon da Spa

On May 14, the 2007 AAFA American Image Awards, sponsored by the American Apparel and Footwear Association, were given out at a benefit whose proceeds went to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Jay Manuel hosted the awards, and Southampton resident Kimora Lee Simmons was awarded The Designer of The Year award. George Feldenkreis received The Man of the Year Award; Matthew Rubel accepted The Retailer of the Year Award; John Larsen accepted The Innovation in Performance Award; Anna Kournikova received The Spirit of a Woman Award; Patricia Field received The Fashion Maverick Award and Dany Levy accepted The Golden Pen Award on behalf of DailyCandy. In the audience were Andre Leon Talley, Willie Garson, Tommy Hilfiger, Joel Horowitz, Sue Kronick, Robert Pittman, Mickey Newsome, Jean C. Crystal, Wendy Williams, Patrick McDonald and Jennifer Hope Wills.

Dennis Farina and Bruce Charet's production company, You're Faded Films, has been looking at acquiring God Doesn't Shoot Craps, Richard Armstrong's novel about a junk-mail con man who sells a bogus craps system through the mail. Bob Ahrens and Dan Vickery have also expressed interest in the book.

The Valery Joseph Salon is setting up shop in Bridgehampton this summer and they will, of course, be making house calls as well. Valery Joseph himself will be there on the weekends.

Lumenfeld + Fleming, the Hamptons-based advertising company headed up by Lynn Blumenfeld and Jill Fleming, received eighteen BOLI awards on May 7 at the Long Island Advertising Club's annual BOLI (Best of Long Island) Awards held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Shadow of Death by Amagansett resident Dr. Patricia Gussin has been named as one of five finalists for "Best First Novel" in the annual Thriller Awards, sponsored by International Thriller Writers.

The Foreign Press Association honored Mike Wallace at their annual International Journalism Scholarship Awards Dinner. Keynote speaker Paul Volcker, delivered a speech on the current state of affairs. Southampton public relations guru John Wegorzewski led the crowd of international press, including Wallace's fellow correspondent Bob Simon, in a rousing Happy Birthday to the news veteran, who just turned 89.

East Hampton's Elizabeth Gildersleeve, who recently was named Director of Communications for Barnard College, is busy working on its annual Spring Gala June at Chelsea Pier's Pier Sixty. The master of ceremonies for the event will be JuJu Chang, correspondent for "20/20," "Good Morning America" and "Nightline."

George Steinbrenner's aide, Ray Negron, is working on a two-book deal with HarperCollins. Yankee broadcaster Bobby Murcer is going to do the narration for the animated version of the book.

Hamptons lawyer Chris Seeger has been inducted into the Hunter College Hall of Fame.

Sag Harbor sailor Pearson Potts, Jr. recently competed in the United States Optimist Dinghy Association Team Trials in Miami, finishing in second place and earning a spot on the five-sailor United States World Team. Their first competition will be the International Optimist Dinghy Worlds in Cagliari, Italy this summer. This is Pearson's second year on the team.

On Thursday, May 24, the last photographs ever taken of Marilyn Monroe will be on display at POP International Galleries in New York City. The photographer, Lawrence Schiller, took the photographs two weeks before Marilyn's tragic death.
