FRIDAY, MAY 9

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT- From 6:30-8:30 p.m., 'A River Runs Through It: The Great Riverhead Legacy' features unveiling of photographic murals by Suzanne Poli which represent the character, beauty and essence of Riverhead; at Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, Riverhead. 450-3323.

THE HALLOCKVILLE FARM- Hallockville Farm Museum, 6038 Sound Ave., Riverhead, opens for tours; guided tours Friday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. until autumn. Features newly restored Cichanowicz farmhouse and self-guided walking tour of 28-acre museum grounds with 18 historic structures, farm animals, gardens and new gift shop. 631-298-5292.

NFCT PRESENTS GYPSY- North Fork Community presents 'Gypsy,' hit musical with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jules Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Based on memoirs of famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee and her "mother of all stage mothers," Rose. Presented via special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Musical Library. Tickets: $15. 298-6328.

SPRING CARNIVAL- Annual spring carnival and flower sale to benefit Maureen's Haven at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School, Aquebogue, features rides, games, food and entertainment. Proceeds to be matched by Thrivent for Lutherans. Tickets: 631-722-4000, ext. 10.

HORSESHOE CRABS LECTURE- At 7:30 p.m. check out 'The Biology, Ecology and Importance of Horseshoe Crabs' lecture by Dr. John Tanacredi, chair of Earth and Marine Sciences at Dowling College, at Red House, Inlet County Park, Route 48, Greenport. Free. 631-477-0553.

SATURDAY, MAY 10

LIEB CELLARS PRESENTS- Lieb Cellars Presents Mothers Day Weekend Wine and Chocolate Pairing. The boutique winery on the North Fork, and Bon Bon Chocolatier, a gourmet chocolate shop in Huntington, have teamed up, once again, for a very special Mother's Day weekend wine and chocolate pairing. Lieb Cellars will feature five wines, including the last of the 2006 Bridge Lane Rosé, as well as the Bridge Lane Bubbly Sparkling wine. Five special, handmade chocolates will then be selected to pair with each wine. The pairing costs $15 a person ($12 for Lieb Cellars Wine Club Members). The complete line of Lieb Cellars wines will also be available for tastings. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. Saturday May 10 and Sunday May 11 in the Lieb Cellars Tasting Room.
