Having "Work" Done, in Privacy and Luxury
With the advent of Medical Tourism, many more people are having cosmetic surgery at a lower cost within the safety, serenity and comfort of a beautiful resort. Ponce de Leon may not have looked for the Fountain of Youth in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico, but many others with the same goal are taking a short flight from Houston for a process called facial stem cell rejuvenation, and recuperating at Casa Marino with its four-star spa treatment, via faceliftmexico.com.
At this facility, Latin surgeons have trained under Ivo Hélcio Jardim de Campos Pitanguy, one of the pioneers in the world of plastic surgery, and have returned to their countries with state of the art techniques that help to create natural results.
Of course, questions arise: How do you qualify a surgeon in a foreign country? How do you find a service that you can trust? One obvious strategy is to rely on reputation and referrals from previous patients. Another option is to call the hospital to assure that the surgeon is in good standing with his or her credentials and reputation.
Patricia Marino, who founded of faceliftmexico.com in 1994, has sent close to 500 patients to her now famous, board certified plastic surgery specialists in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. Conde Naste Traveler chose San Miguel De Allende as one of the Top 10 Cities of the World, describing it as a "500-year-old mountain top 'Shangri-la.' It's like going back in time and it's just an hour flight from Houston, Texas." Surgery is performed in a private full-facility hospital. The price for an all-inclusive 10-day vacation at Marino's four-star spa and retreat, Casa Marino, including the full facelift and airfare, costs around $8,500. After the surgery, patients leave the hospital, check into the spa and retreat to recuperate in luxury. The surgeon comes to Casa Marino for follow-up visits.
Cosmetic surgery is a major decision, and like any surgery, complications can arise, so it is very important to follow all the guidelines post-surgery including no sun for 3 months and no vigorous aerobic activity for 3 weeks. Patients will not be able to lounge in hammocks or frolic on the beach, so it's important to decide on the post-op surroundings.
Research is vital, so it's highly recommended that patients avoid rushing into surgery without doing a lot of planning. Depending on the type of surgery performed it is best to block out 2-3 weeks to be away from stress and family or career pressures. Casa Marino offers privacy, taking away the stress of having to hide from the neighbors, as well as a relaxing experience and the ultimate cosmetic rejuvenations.
