TRASH OR TREASURE- 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Check out Trash or Treasure 'giant' indoor rummage sale at Polish Town Civic Association's chalet headquarters, Lincoln Street, Riverhead. Donations accepted of household items, garage stuff, collectibles and more. Monetary donations welcome. Everything must go on Sunday; 50 percent off entire inventory. ANNUAL PINEWOOD DERBY- At 11 a.m. the Annual Pinewood Derby hosted by Southold Cub Scout Pack 6 at Southold Town Recreation Center. Weigh-ins at 11 a.m.; races begin at noon. Trophies awarded in different categories; no boy goes home empty-handed. 631-765-5423.

THE PECONIC BAY SCALLOP- At 4 p.m. the Oysterponds Historical Society presents 'The Many Histories of the Peconic Bay Scallop,' with John Holzapfel, at Peconic Landing, Greenport. WEIGHT LOSS - The second Tuesday of every month, Dr. Russ L'HommeDieu, a physical therapist, holds a free weight management lecture & discussion session for people fighting similar weight loss problems.
